Mancó Bar & Club opens its new season with international artists

Sofia’s nightlife rarely witnesses artists who build their music literally before the audience’s eyes. On Friday, 11 September, Mancó Bar & Club opens its new season with exactly such a guest – violinist Shai Erez.

A musician, producer and virtuoso violinist whose name is a fixture on the line-ups of top clubs from Dubai to Mykonos, Erez arrives in Sofia with his “Live on DJ” concept. Rather than simply selecting tracks, he creates his music organically in real time, layering the live sound of a classical violin over deep afro house and melodic beats. His instrument runs through complex digital effects to produce a sound that is charged with Middle Eastern exoticism and made for dancing at the same time. Shai Erez is one of those artists who capture the specific, magnetic frequency of the club and translate it into energy that has to be heard live.

The new season at Mancó, however, is built around the idea of an entirely new experience. That is why, exactly one week later – on Friday, 18 September – the focus shifts from sound to taste.

The club will welcome David Rios – one of the most influential figures in European and world mixology. Holder of the ultimate title of “World’s Best Bartender” from the most prestigious global competition, Rios is the man who created the official cocktails for the Latin Grammy Awards and worked as a sommelier at the legendary Michelin-starred restaurant Mugaritz.

The biggest news for connoisseurs of premium drinks in Sofia is that the Spaniard is the author of Mancó’s all-new cocktail menu. During his guest appearance on the 18th, Rios will present a signature bartending show, demonstrating a philosophy in which ingredients, technique and attention to detail turn the glass into art.

September at Mancó is shaping up to be a month of collaborations with no compromise on quality. From the vibrations of Shai Erez’s strings to the precision behind David Rios’s bar, the new season in the capital begins with a clear, cosmopolitan direction.
